Reviving Nagog Orchard

The historic Nagog Hill Orchard in Littleton, Massachusetts is over 50 acres of agricultural land located just 45 minutes from Boston.

For years the town has been searching for a farmer who could bring the property back into productive use. The challenge is that the site is currently filled with thousands of aging apple trees that require heavy chemical spraying and produce little economic value.

Rather than trying to revive that outdated model, I propose something new.

Nagog Orchard can become a native tree farm and permaculture orchard based on Air-Pot container production.

The project would include:

• large native tree production
• ecological restoration species
• permaculture fruit and nut plantings
• local seed-grown genetics

The town has been extremely enthusiastic about the proposal, and we are currently working toward a 40-year lease agreement.

If all goes according to plan, work will begin this year and trees will be available by Fall 2026.
